Years ago I went to South Korea to teach English at a kids' summer camp. I had loads of great food, and I made one great friend in particular. But the food is really what I'm going after here. One of my favorite dishes was bulgogi. I had it a couple of times in Korea, and that's usually what I order from Korean restaurants (because I don't go very often.) I'm not a fan of kimchee, the traditional side dish, but generally the food is quite good. If you do have a Korean eatery in your town (and there's at least one in Knoxville to all of you from there) I highly recommend going.
I do love asian food in practically any form and from any Asian country. Yesterday I went to Borders to pick up a cheap general cookbook, which I found quite easily. Whilst looking about some more, I noticed a huge cookbook of Korean recipes. And it was only $5! I purchased it of course. The first dish I made had to be bulgogi!

It didn't look like much at first. This is the meat in it's oh-so complicated marinating sauce.

The finished product! Rice, bulgogi and spinach namul. Not presented in the traditional Korean way, but it did taste spot-on.
On a side note, someone asked me if I wasn't cooking the days I don't post. I am still cooking, but I thought I'd leave pictures for food that looks appetizing and that I would recommend to others. Plus, I can't go on blogging about every meal. I'm in school.
