Avril Stanton lives in the country and thrives on it. But she has never been in love - until she meets Nathaniel, the boy from the farm next door.
Avril's family and Nathaniel's family have been feuding for two generations and aren't about to stop now. Will it be a Romeo-and-Juliet-style tragedy or will a thunderstorm, a car accident and a couple of conniving grandmothers be able to solve her dilemma?
Absolutely LOVED this book! Yes this is yet another Girlfriend Fiction book which I've read for the second time but honestly I had to read it again! Bookmark Days left me with crazy emotions, including that little fuzzy feeling inside, even 5 years later. It was cute, humorous and overall amazing! I would highly recommend this to all the adolescence out there! :)
Scot Gardner wasn't born reading and writing; in fact, he left school in year eleven to undertake an apprenticeship in gardening with the local council. He has worked as a waiter, masseur, delivery truck driver, home dad, counselor, and musician. These days he spends half the year writing and half the year on the road talking to people about his books and the craft of writing.

I really liked this book. I love Nathaniel he just sounds so hawt. And Katie at first I thought she was a liar, bitch and a slut but at the end of the book I liked her. Avril is such a good girl, really pretty. I love the love story between Nathaniel and her. I wish there was more on them. But the whole book is based around the epic feud between Carringtons and Stanton & I have to admit the feud was STUPID as. Overall a fantastic book to read!
This is a great example of Aussie YA. I've always loved the girlfriend fiction and that is still the case. Such a beautiful ending.
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. This book is incredible, especially because I too am a rural girl - not as much as this, but it still has a few factors that I live with too. I love how they have the 'sleepover' at the creek I was just thinking in my head 'AHHH!!' And then 'wow.' when Nate's grandfather slapped her :OVERY VERY VERY VERY VERY GOOD BOOK. And it won't take you AGES to read, this is like a casual one weekened which is good if you're busy with school, etc and you want some good quality chick flick
Last year I read Scot Gardner's The Dead I Know and it completely blew me away. This is the fourth book I have read by Gardner in under a year and each has impressed me. But there was something very different about this one. When I bought it I did not know it was part of a series called Girlfriend Fiction. And if I had known that I might not have purchased it. But that would have been my loss. The story has an amazing premise and is wonderfully written.Avril Stanton lives in the outback of

This book is not what I expected it to be. I never thought that a man could accurately write a book about the thoughts and feelings of a teenage girl but he did amazingly well.Gardner has obviously had help from somebody along the way because no man could ever be that exact on a girls feelings. The way it was written was like it was a diary by a girl confused by her feelings towards the boy next door. There is anger, laughter, family troubles, friend troubles, loneliness, despair, lying, crying,Absolutely LOVED this book!
