Bidadari-Bidadari Surga bercerita tentang pengorbanan seorang kakak (Laisa) untuk adik-adiknya (Dalimunte, Ikanuri, Wibisana dan Yashinta) di Lembah Lahambay agar adik-adiknya dapat melanjutkan pendidikan mereka, meski ia harus bekerja di terik matahari setiap hari, mengolah gula aren setiap jam 4 pagi serta dimalam hari menganyam rotan, meski pada dasarnya keempat adik-adiknya tersebut berasal dari darah yang berbeda dengan dirinya. Satu sisi Laisa digambarkan sebagai kakak yang galak dan tegas, mengejar-ngejar adiknya yang bolos sekolah dengan rotan dan ranting kayu. Di sisi lain, kontradiktif dengan fisiknya yang gempal, gendut, berkulit hitam, wajah yang tidak proporsional ditambah dengan rambut gimbal serta ukuran tubuhnya yang tidak normal, lebih pendek, Laisa sesungguhnya tipe kakak yang mendukung adik-adiknya, rela mengorbankan diri untuk keselamatan ‘dua anak nakal’ Ikanuri dan Wibisana dari siluman Gunung Kendeng, serta mati-matian mencari obat bagi kesembuhan adiknya Yashinta yang diserang demam panas hingga kejang pada suatu malam.

Almost a perfect book. But although I said almost, the book is amazing. Written in a simple sentences, it carries a great story telling about the love between siblings and between children and their mother. It tells us also about the preciousness of working hard and working hard as shown by all the siblings: Laisa, Dalimunte, Ikanuri, Wibisana and Yashinta. Nothing in the world could be achieved if without hard work and all the characters show us that their glory comes with dream, passion andYash,, Yash!! :)
I want to cry when I read this book
it is also good to be a movie, instead of Delisa. One big main plot, with various kind of background stories.This book teaches me how to become a brother for my little sisters who truly hopes for their best. Whatever it takes.

A great story that always reminded me of my childhood and present situation. I am one of 7 siblings that actually born and raised in rural area and ended up in Tokyo. To me, I can relate to how the siblings depicted in this story struggle for better future and how elder brother (in this case sister) must sacrifice many things for his brothers' happiness. Can't help not to cry when reading this. A superb masterpiece.
